45. Documentary Photos and Drawings – 12 Total – Due Tuesday before class is over
Take photos, find images to print out, and draw images of your subject. You need to have at least six photos of your own while the other six can be images from newspapers, magazines, your drawings, etc. Please upload your photos to your blog before class is over on Tuesday so that I can print them for you.
46. Accordion Book – Due Thursday before class is over
We will print your six photos, upload to your blog first so that I can print them, by Tuesday before class is over. Then you will prepare an accordion book. You will have Wednesday and Thursday to create the books. Below are the instructions on creating the book. We will go over it in class as well. Then you will mount your printed photos, magazine and newspaper cutouts, and drawings into the book along with captions, titles, and any stories. We will present the books on Monday in class, so be prepared for that as well. Be creative with the books, the paper you use, the captions, and the titles. Make sure that you use good conventions and ideas and content.
Also, here is the rubric showing what you will be graded on
Students mount images on 16-x-20-inch pages, artfully arranging them and interspersing them with text derived from their interviews. (This approach approximates the way in which photo essays were most often presented in magazines and other publications.) Students can also make accordion books in which to present their images.
